Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhunī Vibhaṅga · Vol. 3 · Section 340

[340] **"Whatever" (yā pana)** means: whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī"** means: … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense. **"Ill-tempered" (caṇḍīkatā)** means: one who is angry, so it is said. **"A group" (gaṇo)** means: what is called the Saṅgha of bhikkhunīs. **"Should revile" (paribhāseyya)** means: if she reviles them, saying, "These are fools, these are incompetent, these do not know a formal act (kamma), or a fault in a formal act, or the failure of a formal act, or the success of a formal act," she commits an offense of pācittiya. If she reviles several bhikkhunīs, or a single bhikkhunī, or one not fully ordained (anupasampanna), she commits an offense of dukkaṭa.
