[430] **"Whatever" (yā pana):** whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī":** … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense.
**A man (purisa)** means one who has reached twenty years of age.
**A youth (kumāraka)** means one who has not reached twenty years of age.
**Associated (saṃsaṭṭhā)** means associated by way of improper bodily and verbal conduct.
**Violent-tempered (caṇḍī)**: one who is wrathful is what is meant.
**A cause of sorrow (sokāvassā)** means: she produces suffering (dukkha) for others; she brings on sorrow.
**A sikkhamānā** means one who has trained in the training in the six dhammas for two years.
**"Should ordain" (vuṭṭhāpeyya)** means: should give full ordination (upasampadā).
[Thinking,] "I shall ordain [her]," she searches for a group (gaṇa), or a female teacher (ācarinī), or a bowl, or a robe, or she authorizes a boundary (sīmā): an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa). With the motion (ñatti), a dukkaṭa; with the two proclamations of the formal act (kammavācā), dukkaṭas; at the conclusion of the [final] proclamation, for the preceptor (upajjhāyā) there is an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya); for the group and for the female teacher, an offense of wrongdoing.
