[442] **"Whatever" (yā pana):** whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī":** … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense. **"One year" (ekaṃ vassaṃ):** one twelvemonth (saṃvacchara). **"Should sponsor two" (dve vuṭṭhāpeyya):** should give full ordination (upasampādeyya) to two. Thinking, "I will sponsor two," she searches for a group, or a teacher (ācarinī), or a bowl, or a robe, or she authorizes a boundary (sīmā): an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). With the motion (ñatti): an offense of wrong-doing. With the two proclamations (kammavācā): offenses of wrong-doing. At the conclusion of the proclamation, for the preceptor (upajjhāyā): an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya); and for the group and for the teacher: an offense of wrong-doing.
