[396] **Whatever** (*yā pana*): whoever, of whatever sort … **Bhikkhunī**: … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense.
**Ordained** (*vuṭṭhāpitaṃ*): given full ordination (upasampādita).
**Pavattinī**: she who is called the preceptor (upajjhāyā).
**For two years** (*dve vassāni*): for two twelve-month periods.
**Should not follow** (*nānubandheyya*): should not herself attend upon her.
In the mere casting off of the responsibility, [thinking,] "I will not follow her for two years," there is an offence of pācittiya.
