Gabbhinīvaggasikkhābada

Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhunī Vibhaṅga · Vol. 3 · Section 381

[381] "Whatever" (yā pana): whoever, of whatever sort … . "Bhikkhunī": … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context. "Less than twelve years" (ūnadvādasavassā) means: one who has not attained twelve years. "A married girl" (gihigatā) means: one who has gone to a man (purisantaragatā) is what is meant. "Should ordain" (vuṭṭhāpeyya): should give full ordination (upasampādeyya). Thinking, "I shall ordain her," she seeks a group (gaṇa), or a teacher (ācarinī), or a bowl, or a robe, or she agrees upon a boundary (sīmā): an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). For the motion (ñatti), an offence of wrong-doing. For the two proclamations of the act (kammavācā), offences of wrong-doing. At the conclusion of the proclamation of the act, for the preceptor (upajjhāyā) there is an offence entailing expiation (pācittiya); for the group and for the teacher, an offence of wrong-doing.
