[125] **"Khattiyas, brahmins, of deities" (khattiyā brāhmaṇā devatānaṃ):** "Khattiyas (khattiyā)" means any who are of khattiya birth. "Brahmins (brāhmaṇā)" means any who are "sayers of 'bho'" (bhovādikā). "Of deities (devatānaṃ)": for the disciples of the Ājīvakas, the Ājīvakas are deities … for those who observe the vow of the directions (disāvatika), the directions are deities. Whoever are worthy of offerings (dakkhiṇeyyā) for any persons, those are the deities of those persons. Hence: "khattiyas, brahmins, of deities."
