[259] **"Relying on nothingness, having abandoned the other" (ākiñcaññaṃ nissito hitvamaññaṃ)**: having abandoned, avoided, relinquished, gone beyond, transcended, and passed over the six lower attainments (samāpatti), one relies upon, adheres to, has approached, has fully approached, cleaves to, and is resolved upon the attainment of the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatanasamāpatti). Therefore it is said, "relying on nothingness, having abandoned the other."
