[279] **"When all dhammas have been uprooted" (sabbesu dhammesu samūhatesu)**: when all dhammas — that is, all aggregates (khandhā), all sense bases (āyatana), all elements (dhātu), all destinations (gati), all rebirths (upapatti), all rebirth-linkings (paṭisandhi), all existences (bhava), all rounds of saṃsāra, all cycles (vaṭṭa) — have been uprooted, thoroughly uprooted, drawn up, thoroughly drawn up, extracted, thoroughly extracted, abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa) — therefore, "when all dhammas have been uprooted."
