[302] **"They speak of purity in manifold ways" (anekarūpena vadanti suddhinti):** by means of many kinds of auspicious ceremonies (maṅgala) consisting of observances (vatta) and superstitious rites (kutūhala), they speak of, tell of, declare, explain, and express purity, complete purity, thorough purity; release, liberation, complete deliverance. Therefore it is said: "they speak of purity in manifold ways."
