[292] **They speak of purity through the seen and the heard** (diṭṭhasutenāpi vadanti suddhiṃ): Through the seen, too, they speak of, declare, utter, explain, and express purity (suddhi), full purity (visuddhi), complete purity (parisuddhi), release (mutti), deliverance (vimutti), and complete deliverance (parimutti); through the heard, too, they speak of, declare, utter, explain, and express purity, full purity, complete purity, release, deliverance, and complete deliverance; through the seen and the heard, too, they speak of, declare, utter, explain, and express purity, full purity, complete purity, release, deliverance, and complete deliverance. Hence: "They speak of purity through the seen and the heard."¹
