[338] **Among pleasing things (piyarūpesu), Hemaka**: What in the world is pleasing (piyarūpa) and agreeable (sātarūpa)?
The eye (cakkhu) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; the ear, the nose, the tongue, the body, the mind are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Form is pleasing and agreeable in the world; sounds, odors, tastes, tangibles, and mental phenomena (dhammā) are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Eye-consciousness is pleasing and agreeable in the world; ear-consciousness, nose-consciousness, tongue-consciousness, body-consciousness, and mind-consciousness are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; ear-contact, nose-contact, tongue-contact, body-contact, and mind-contact are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Feeling (vedanā) born of eye-contact is pleasing and agreeable in the world; feeling born of ear-contact, feeling born of nose-contact, feeling born of tongue-contact, feeling born of body-contact, and feeling born of mind-contact are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Perception of forms (rūpasaññā) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; perception of sounds, perception of odors, perception of tastes, perception of tangibles, and perception of mental phenomena are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Volition concerning forms (rūpasañcetanā) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; volition concerning sounds, volition concerning odors, volition concerning tastes, volition concerning tangibles, and volition concerning mental phenomena are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Craving for forms (rūpataṇhā) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; craving for sounds, craving for odors, craving for tastes, craving for tangibles, and craving for mental phenomena are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Thought concerning forms (rūpavitakka) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; thought concerning sounds, thought concerning odors, thought concerning tastes, thought concerning tangibles, and thought concerning mental phenomena are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Examination concerning forms (rūpavicāra) is pleasing and agreeable in the world; examination concerning sounds, examination concerning odors, examination concerning tastes, examination concerning tangibles, and examination concerning mental phenomena are pleasing and agreeable in the world. Hence: "among pleasing things."
