[402] **Grasped, or to be relinquished (uggahitaṃ nirattaṃ vā):** "Grasped" means grasped, clung to, adhered to, held to, and resolved upon by way of craving (taṇhā), by way of view (diṭṭhi). "Or to be relinquished" means: to be relinquished — that is, to be released, to be abandoned, to be dispelled, to be brought to an end, to be brought to non-existence. Hence, "grasped, or to be relinquished."
