[411] **"Taints are not found in him" (āsavassa na vijjanti):**
**Taints (āsavā):** there are four taints (āsava) — the taint of sensuality (kāmāsava), the taint of existence (bhavāsava), the taint of views (diṭṭhāsava), and the taint of ignorance (avijjāsava).
**"In him" (assa):** in the Arahant whose taints are destroyed (khīṇāsava).
**"Are not found" (na vijjanti):** these taints do not exist for him, are not present, are not found, are not to be obtained; they have been abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). Hence, "taints are not found in him."
