[529] *Tasmā tuvaṃ Piṅgiya appamatto* — "Therefore, Piṅgiya, you should be heedful": *Tasmā* (therefore) means: therefore — for that reason, from that cause, owing to that condition, with that as its source — seeing thus the danger (ādīnava) in craving (taṇhā); hence, "Therefore you, Piṅgiya." *Appamatto* (heedful) means: one who acts with care, one who acts with perseverance … heedful with regard to wholesome states (kusalā dhammā); hence, "Therefore, Piṅgiya, you should be heedful." [Variant readings: ¹ M. (Burmese edition): *taṇhānuge*. ² M.: *samannāgate*.]
