[642] **Then I saw the Fully Awakened One (athaddasāsiṃ sambuddhaṃ):** "Then" (atha) is a word-junction (padasandhi) … this word "atha" pertains to the sequence of words. **I saw (addasāsiṃ):** I saw, I beheld, I observed, I penetrated. **The Fully Awakened One (sambuddhaṃ):** He who is the Blessed One … this is a designation founded on realization (sacchikā paññatti), namely "Buddha." Hence, "then I saw the Fully Awakened One."
