[797] **"Constantly practicing what accords with the Dhamma among dhammas" (dhammesu niccaṃ anudhammacārī):** "dhammas" is said of the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna) … the noble eightfold path. What is that which accords with the Dhamma (anudhamma)? Right practice, conforming practice, unopposed practice, practice in accordance with the goal, practice of the Dhamma in conformity with the Dhamma; fulfilling the virtues (sīla); guarding the doors of the sense faculties (indriya); moderation in eating; devotion to wakefulness; mindfulness and clear comprehension — these are said to be that which accords with the Dhamma. **"Constantly practicing what accords with the Dhamma among dhammas":** among dhammas, at all times, constantly, continually, uninterruptedly, wave upon wave like waves arising upon water, without interval, in continuity, connected, contiguous — before the meal and after the meal; in the first watch, the middle watch, and the last watch; in the dark fortnight and in the bright fortnight; in the rainy season, in the winter, and in the summer; in the first stage of life, in the middle stage of life, and in the last stage of life — he practices, moves about, conducts himself, carries on, guards, maintains, and sustains [that practice]. Therefore, "constantly practicing what accords with the Dhamma among dhammas."
