[203] Contemplating the sign (nimitta) as fearful, through being resolved upon the signless (animitta), having looked on with equanimity at occurrence (pavatta), having adverted to cessation, to Nibbāna, the signless, one attains it: this is the signless attainment (animittā samāpatti). Contemplating inclination (paṇidhi) as fearful, through being resolved upon the desireless (appaṇihita), having looked on with equanimity at occurrence, having adverted to cessation, to Nibbāna, the desireless, one attains it: this is the desireless attainment (appaṇihitā samāpatti). Contemplating adherence (abhinivesa) as fearful, through being resolved upon the void (suññata), having looked on with equanimity at occurrence, having adverted to cessation, to Nibbāna, the void, one attains it: this is the void attainment (suññatā samāpatti).
