[233] How is wisdom (paññā) in the exhausting, by the fires (teja), of what is dense (puthu) and diverse (nānatta) the knowledge (ñāṇa) in the sense of effacement (sallekha)?
"Dense": lust (rāga) is dense; hatred is dense; delusion is dense; anger, grudge, denigration, presumptuous rivalry, envy, avarice, deceit, hypocrisy, obstinacy, contentiousness, conceit, excessive conceit, intoxication, heedlessness — all defilements (kilesa), all misconduct, all volitional formations (abhisaṅkhāra), all kamma leading to existence are dense.
