[267] With reference to the origin of suffering … with reference to the cessation of suffering … the wisdom (paññā), the act of understanding … non-delusion, investigation of dhammas, right view, that arises with reference to the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering — this is called knowledge (ñāṇa) of the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering (dukkha).
That is knowledge in the sense of its being known; it is wisdom in the sense of understanding. Therefore it is said: knowledge of suffering, knowledge of the origin of suffering, knowledge of the cessation of suffering, knowledge of the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering.
