[377] What is the beginning, what is the middle, what is the end of the third jhāna? … Thus the mind (citta), having gone through the threefold course, possessing the threefold goodness and endowed with the ten characteristics, is endowed with rapture (pīti) and endowed with happiness (sukha), endowed with steadiness (adhiṭṭhāna) of the mind, endowed with faith (saddhā), endowed with energy (vīriya), endowed with mindfulness (sati), endowed with concentration (samādhi), and endowed with wisdom (paññā).
