[441] By way of the concentration faculty (samādhindriya) in the four jhānas, by which twenty modes should the five faculties (indriya) be seen?
In the first jhāna the concentration faculty should be seen in the sense of dominance in non-distraction; by way of the concentration faculty, the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) should be seen in the sense of seeing; the faith faculty (saddhindriya) should be seen in the sense of resolution; the energy faculty (vīriyindriya) should be seen in the sense of exertion; the mindfulness faculty (satindriya) should be seen in the sense of establishment.
