[696] How, at the moment of the supramundane path (lokuttaramagga), does one penetrate (abhisameti) with the present mind (citta) and with knowledge (ñāṇa)?
At the moment of the supramundane path, the mind, having dominance in arising (uppādādhipateyya), is the cause and condition of knowledge; the mind associated with that [knowledge] has cessation as its resort. Knowledge, having dominance in seeing (dassanādhipateyya), is the cause and condition of the mind; the knowledge associated with that [mind] has cessation as its resort. Thus, at the moment of the supramundane path, one penetrates with the present mind and with knowledge.
