[9] The liberation of mind (cetovimutti) through loving-kindness (mettā) is to be directly known (abhiññeyya); the liberation of mind through compassion (karuṇā) is to be directly known; the liberation of mind through altruistic joy (muditā) is to be directly known; the liberation of mind through equanimity (upekkhā) is to be directly known. The attainment (samāpatti) of the sphere of infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana) is to be directly known; the attainment of the sphere of infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana) is to be directly known; the attainment of the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana) is to be directly known; the attainment of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) is to be directly known.
