[131] The Blessed One Vipassī, of golden complexion, worthy of offerings (dakkhiṇā),
surrounded by his disciples, departed from the monastery (ārāma).
Having seen the supreme Buddha, the omniscient one, free from taints (āsava),
confident in mind (citta) and glad, I paid homage to the path along which he had gone.
Through that confidence of mind in the lord of the two-footed, the steadfast one,
elated, with an elated mind, I bowed down once more to the Tathāgata.
Since in the ninety-first aeon from the present I offered up that flower,
I have known no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of homage to the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
In the forty-first aeon from the present there was a khattiya named Varuṇa,
endowed with the seven treasures, a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti) of great power.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Gandhapupphiya speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Gandhapupphiya is concluded.
