[182] Under the Blessed One Vessabhū I was¹ a monastery attendant (ārāmika);
with a confident mind, glad at heart, I attended upon the supreme Saṅgha.
In the thirty-first aeon (kappa) from this one, whatever deed (kamma) I did then,
[through it] I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of attendance (upaṭṭhāna).
In the seventh aeon from this, there were seven [kings] named Samotthaka,²
endowed with the seven treasures, wheel-turning monarchs (cakkavattī) of great power.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) too,
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Saṅghupaṭṭhāka speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Saṅghupaṭṭhāka is concluded.
Summary (uddāna):
Kumuda, then Nisseṇī, Rattika, Udapānada,
Sīhāsanī, Maggappada,³ Ekadīpī, Maṇippada,
Tikicchaka, [and] Upaṭṭhāka — forty-nine verses [in all].⁴
