[186] The Blessed One named Tissa, the Eldest of the world, the bull among men, walked along the street at the head of his disciples.
Five handfuls of blue lotuses (uppala) had been set in place by me at the crossing of four ways; I, a son, was desiring to give an oblation (āhuti) for the achievement of welfare.
Touched by the rays of the Buddha, I worshipped the Fully Awakened One (sambuddha) of golden hue, the supreme among two-footed beings, as he was walking amid the market stalls.
In the ninety-second aeon (kappa) from now, because I offered up that flower, I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of worship of the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
In the thirteenth aeon from now there were five known as Sulabha, universal monarchs (cakkavattī) of great might, endowed with the seven treasures.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well, and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's dispensation (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Pañcahatthiya spoke these verses.
