[212] For to Tissa (Tissa), the Blessed One,
the deva of devas (devadeva), the steadfast one (tādī),
a single parasol was given by me
with a serene mind.
My evil is warded off
through the undertaking of the wholesome (kusalassa upasampadā);
they hold a parasol over me in the sky:
this is the fruit of former kamma (pubbakamma).

My final [existence] is now proceeding;
all existences (bhava) have been utterly uprooted;
I bear my last body
in the dispensation (sāsana) of the Fully Self-Enlightened One.
In the ninety-second aeon (kappa) from now,
when I gave that parasol then,
I know of no bad destination (duggati):
this is the fruit of the gift of a parasol.
In the seventy-second aeon from now
there were eight lords of the people,
kings, wheel-turning monarchs (cakkavattī),
Mahānidāna by name.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized;
the Buddha's dispensation has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Pāpanivāriya the Elder spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of Pāpanivāriya the Elder is concluded.
Summary (uddāna):
Kaṇikāra and Minela, Kiṃkaṇi and with Tāraṇa,
the Nigguṇḍi-flower, the Water-giver, Salaḷa and Kuraṇḍaka,
the gift of a stand, and Pāpa[-nivāriya]: forty-eight verses.
The Kaṇikārapupphiya Chapter, the Twenty-First, [is concluded].
