[234] In the city of Bandhumatī I was then a potter;
at that very time I maintained vessels for the Saṅgha of bhikkhus (bhikkhusaṅgha).
Ninety-one aeons ago I maintained vessels;
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of the vessels.
Fifty-three aeons ago there was one named Anantajali,
a universal monarch (cakkavatti) of great power, endowed with the seven treasures.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Bhājanadāyaka speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Bhājanadāyaka is concluded.
