[254] Having abandoned my divine form (devavaṇṇa), I came here together with my wife,
desiring to do service (adhikāra) in the dispensation (sāsana) of the most excellent Buddha.
There was a disciple of Padumuttara, Devala by name;
to him I gave alms (bhikkhā) with a serenely confident mind.
The deed (kamma) I did then, a hundred thousand aeons ago —
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the almsfood (piṇḍapāta).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's dispensation has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Ekāsanadāyaka the Elder spoke these verses.
