[255] The Sambuddha named Ānanda, the Self-Become One (sayambhū), the unconquered,
attained final Nibbāna (parinibbāyi) in the wilderness, in a grove devoid of human beings.
Having come here from the deva world, I then built a funeral pyre;
there I cremated the body, and I paid homage (sakkāra).
In the ninety-first eon (kappa) from the present, the deed that I did then —
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of worship of the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Citakapūjaka Thera spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of Citakapūjaka Thera is concluded.
