[285] Like a lion that ranges the forest,
like a thoroughbred chief bull,
like a kakudha tree in its splendor —
so came on the Bull of Men.
Siddhattha, the Lamp of the World,
the Healer of all the world —
I went out to welcome him
with a serene and confident mind.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from the present
I went out to meet the Bull of Men;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) —
this is the fruit of going out to welcome.
In the twenty-seventh aeon from the present
I was one lord of the people,
a universal monarch (cakkavatti) of great power,
Parivāra by name.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized;
the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Paccuggamaniya the Elder spoke these verses.
