Then I was a goblin (pisāca) at the southern gate;
I saw the stainless Buddha, like the sun with its golden rays.
To Vipassī, the foremost of men, the seeker of the welfare of all the world,
a single flower was given by me — to the Lord of the two-footed (dipadinda), the steadfast one (tādī).
In the ninety-first aeon (kappa) from now, since I gave that flower then,
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of homage to the Buddha (buddhapūjā).

The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Ekapupphiya speak these verses.
