[289] I extolled the past deeds (apadāna) of the Well-Gone Ones (sugata), the great seers (mahesī);
and, full of confidence, I venerated their feet with my head and with my own hands.

Ninety-two aeons (kappa) from now, I extolled the past deeds;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of extolling.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Apadāniya the Elder spoke these verses.
