[317] As the Fully Awakened One — golden-hued, radiant like the hundred-rayed sun —
Siddhattha, the Unconquered, was walking not far away,
I went out to meet him and, ushering him into the hermitage,
I gave him a seat of flowers with a serene mind.
Raising my joined palms in reverence, I was then filled with joy;
having made my mind (citta) confident in the Buddha, I dedicated that deed:
whatever merit (puñña) has been done by me toward the Self-Arisen One (Sayambhū), the Unconquered —
by all that wholesome (kusala) deed, may I be stainless in the dispensation (sāsana).
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from the present, I then gave the seat of flowers;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the seat of flowers.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's dispensation has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Pupphāsanadāyaka speak these verses.
