The Fully Enlightened One (sambuddha), golden in hue, like a thoroughbred lordly bull,
like a mātaṅga elephant, a tusker in rut in three places — the Great Seer (mahesi);
illumining all the quarters, like a royal sāla tree in bloom,¹
walking along the street — the Eldest of the World, the Supreme among Men²:
having made my mind (citta) serene in his knowledge (ñāṇa), and raising my joined palms (añjali),
with a confident mind, glad at heart, I paid homage to Siddhattha.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from now — the deed (kamma) that I did then —
I have known no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the perception of knowledge (ñāṇasaññā).
In the seventy-third aeon from now there were sixteen supreme among men (naruttamā),
universal monarchs (cakkavatti) of great might, endowed with the seven treasures.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized: the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
It was thus, indeed, that the Venerable Elder Ñāṇasaññika spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Ñāṇasaññika is concluded.
