[37] Now the Blessed One Atthadassī, the Self-Become One (Sayambhū), the Unvanquished,
surrounded by the Saṅgha of bhikkhus, set out along the street.
Surrounded by my pupils, I came out from my house;
and having come out, there I saw the Leader of the World.
Having paid homage¹ to the Fully Awakened One, raising my joined palms upon my head,
I brought confidence to my own mind (citta) and extolled the Leader of the World:
"As many beings as possess form, or are formless, or non-percipient —
all of them are encompassed² within your knowledge (ñāṇa).
Were someone to encircle the water with a fine-meshed³ net —
whatever living creatures there are in the water, they all come to be within the net.
And those that have volition (cetanā), whether possessed of form or formless —
all of them are encompassed within your knowledge.
You lift up this world engulfed in darkness;
having heard your Dhamma, they cross over the stream of doubt.
The world is shrouded by ignorance (avijjā), overspread with darkness;

when your knowledge shines, the darkness is destroyed.
You are the eye of all; you are the dispeller of the great darkness.
Having heard your Dhamma, many people will attain Nibbāna."
Having filled a vessel¹ with pure honey of the small bee,
lifting it up with both hands, I presented it to the Great Sage.
The Great Hero, the Great Seer, accepted it with his fair hand.
And having partaken of it, the All-Knowing One rose into the sky, into the firmament;
standing in the air, the Teacher Atthadassī, the Bull of Men,
bringing confidence to my mind, spoke these verses:
"He by whom this knowledge was praised and the supreme Buddha extolled —
by that confidence of mind he will not go to a bad destination,
and sixty-four² times he will exercise rulership among the devas.
A hundred and eight³ times he will dwell upon the earth wielding regional kingship,
and five hundred times he will be a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti).
He will exercise regional kingship beyond reckoning upon the earth.
A reciter, a bearer of the mantras, a master of the three Vedas,
he will go forth in the dispensation of the Blessed One Gotama,
and with knowledge he will investigate the profound and subtle meaning.
He will be a disciple of the Teacher, Mogharāja by name,
endowed⁴ with the three true knowledges (vijjā), his task accomplished, free of taints (āsava).

Gotama, the foremost of caravan-leaders, will establish him in the foremost position (etadagga)."
Having abandoned the human yoke, having severed the bond of existence,
having fully understood all taints, I dwell free of taints.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's dispensation (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Mogharāja spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Mogharāja is concluded.
