[38] When the Lord of the World, Atthadassī, supreme among men, had attained final Nibbāna,
having invited¹ the Saṅgha of bhikkhus with a serenely confident mind —
having invited the jewel of the Saṅgha (saṅgharatana)², upright and concentrated —
I made a pavilion of sugarcane and fed the supreme Saṅgha.
In whatever womb I am reborn — the state of a deva or that of a human —
I surpass all beings: this is the fruit of meritorious action (puññakamma).
It was eighteen hundred eons (kappa) ago that I gave that gift (dāna);
I know of no bad destination: this is the fruit of the gift of sugarcane.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā) and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.

Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Adhimuttaka speak these verses.
