[374] "The Blessed One named Vipassī, the Self-Arisen One (sayambhū), the foremost of persons,
the Victor (jina), attended by his own disciples, entered the city of Bandhuma.
Three pāṭali flowers had been placed by me in the fold of my garment;
wishing to bathe my head, I went to the bank of the river.
Having gone out from Bandhumatī, I saw the Leader of the World,
blazing like a blue lotus (indīvara), like a fire ablaze;
like an excellent tiger-bull, like a thoroughbred maned lion,
walking along — the foremost of ascetics, attended by the Saṅgha of bhikkhus.
Confident in that Well-Gone One (Sugata), the washer-away of the stain of defilements,
I took the three flowers and worshipped the supreme Buddha.
In the ninety-first aeon (kappa) from now, in that I paid homage with that flower,
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of worship of the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized: the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled."
Thus indeed the Venerable Pāṭalipupphiya the Elder spoke these verses.
