[381] Having made a garland of jasmine (sumana), I stood before the Blessed One Siddhattha — the bathed one (nhātaka), the ascetic — and held it there.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from the present, because I offered that garland in worship, I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the jasmine garland.
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha; the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences (bhava) have been uprooted; like an elephant that has severed its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha), and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Sumanadāmiya the Elder speak these verses.
