Blazing like a kaṇikāra tree, like the moon on the full-moon night,
like a burning lamp-tree — I saw the Leader of the World.
Having taken a fruit of the banana plant,¹ I gave it to the Teacher;
confident in mind (citta) and joyful, I paid homage and departed.

In the thirty-first aeon from now I gave that fruit then;
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned up; all existences (bhava) have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has broken its bonds, I dwell without taints (āsava).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Kadaliphaladāyaka spoke these verses.
