For Siddhattha, the Blessed One, lord of two-footed beings, the steadfast one,
with a mind (citta) full of confidence, glad at heart, I had a house for the Bodhi tree (bodhighara) built.
I was reborn in Tusita; I dwell in a house of jewels;
neither cold nor heat afflicts me, nor does the wind touch my body.
In the sixty-fifth aeon from now I was a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti);
the city named Kāsika was created by Visukamma —
ten yojanas in length, eight yojanas in breadth;
in that city there was no timber, no vine, no clay.
A yojana across, half a yojana in breadth,
the palace named Maṅgala was created by Visukamma.
There were eighty-four thousand pillars of gold;
the turrets were made of gems, and the roof was of silver.
A house made entirely of gold was created by Visukamma;
and I dwelt in it — this is the fruit of the gift of a house.
Having experienced all those existences among devas and humans,
today I have attained Nibbāna, the unsurpassed state of peace.
In the thirty-thousandth aeon I had the house for the Bodhi tree built;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the gift of a house.

My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has broken its bonds, I dwell without taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā) and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Bodhigharakāraka spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Bodhigharakāraka is concluded.
Summary (Uddāna)
Vibhedaki, Kolaphali, Billa, Bhallātakappada,
Ummā and Ambāṭaki too, Āsani, Pādapīṭhaka,
Vedikā, Bodhigharika — and the verses, when counted,
are seventy-nine in all, proclaimed in this chapter.
