[42] Taking a fan of peacock feathers (morahattha), I approached the Leader of the World;
with a mind of serene confidence, joyful, I gave the peacock-feather fan.
Through this peacock-feather fan, and through my volition and aspirations,
the three fires have been extinguished for me; I obtain abundant happiness.
Oh, the Buddha! Oh, the Dhamma! Oh, the excellence (sampadā) of our Teacher!
Having given the peacock-feather fan, I obtain abundant happiness.
The threefold fires have been extinguished for me; all existences have been uprooted;
all taints (āsava) are utterly destroyed; there is now no renewed existence.
In the thirty-first aeon from now, since I gave that gift then,
I have known no bad destination: this is the fruit of the peacock-feather fan.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds, I dwell free of taints.
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha!
The three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
[Variant readings in the Siam edition: 1. Ma. and Yu. read "upesiṃ." 2. Ma. reads "nibbāyiṃsu tayo aggī"; Yu. reads "nibbanti me tayo aggī."]
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Morahatthiya speak these verses.
