[43] I paid homage to the Bodhi tree (bodhirukkha) of the Blessed One Tissa;
taking up a fan (vījanī), there I fanned the lion throne (sīhāsana).
It was ninety-two aeons from the present that I fanned the lion throne;
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of the fanning.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences (bhava) have been utterly destroyed;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha!
The three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Sīhāsanabījiya, the elder, speak these verses.
