[44] With a mind (citta) full of confidence, glad at heart,
I held three torches at the Bodhi tree of the Buddha Padumuttara, supreme among trees.
#1 M. (Burmese edition): "avandiyaṃ".
In the hundred-thousandth aeon from now I [1] bore that torch;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the gift of a torch.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burnt up; all existences (bhava) have been extirpated;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds, I dwell without taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā) and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Tiṇukkadhāriya speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Tiṇukkadhāriya is concluded.
