[45] To Kakusandha, the sage (muni), the brahmin who had fulfilled the holy life,
as he was going to his daytime abiding, I gave something to step upon (akkamana).
In this very eon (kappa), because of the gift I gave then,
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the stepping-gift.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences (bhava) have been eradicated;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds, I dwell without taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was it for me in the presence of my Buddha:
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.

The four analytical insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Akkamanadāyaka spoke these verses.
