While the Blessed One Vipassī was walking back and forth, in his presence,
with a confident mind (citta), glad at heart, I had a bridge built.
In the ninety-first eon from the present, since I had that bridge built,
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of the gift of a bridge.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned up; all existences (bhava) have been rooted out;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā) and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Setudāyaka spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Setudāyaka is concluded.
