[96] Blazing like a kaṇikāra tree, like the moon on the full-moon night,
blazing like a tree of lamps — I saw the Leader of the World.
Taking a citron fruit (mātuluṅga), with a confident heart I gave it to the Teacher —
the hero worthy of offerings — with my own hands.
In the thirty-first aeon (kappa) from now, it was then that I gave that fruit;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned up; all existences (bhava) have been extirpated;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Mātuluṅgaphaladāyaka spoke these verses.
