[95] To the Fully Enlightened One (Sambuddha), golden-hued,
the recipient of oblations (āhuti),
as he was proceeding along the street,
I gave a cāra fruit (cāraphala).
In the ninety-first eon from now,
the fruit that I gave then —
I know of no bad destination (duggati):
this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away;
all existences (bhava) have been extirpated;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds,
I dwell without taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming
into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained;
the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized;
the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Cāraphaliya¹ spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Cāraphaliya is concluded.
