[529] What is that form (rūpa) that is verbal intimation (vacīviññatti)?
That which is the speech, utterance, way of speech, enunciation, vocal sound, making of vocal sound, speech, articulation of speech of one whose mind (citta) is wholesome, or whose mind is unwholesome, or whose mind is indeterminate — this is called speech. That which is the intimation, the making known, the state of having been made known by means of that speech — this is that form that is verbal intimation.
