[620] What is that form (rūpa) which is internal (ajjhattika) and not the masculinity faculty (purisindriya)? The eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) … the body sense base (kāyāyatana) — this is that form which is internal and not the masculinity faculty. What is that form which is external (bāhira) and is the masculinity faculty? That which of a man is the masculine features (purisaliṅga), the masculine sign (purisanimitta), masculine behavior (purisakutta), masculine deportment (purisākappa), masculinity (purisatta), the masculine state (purisabhāva) — this is that form which is external and is the masculinity faculty. What is that form which is external and not the masculinity faculty? The visible-form sense base (rūpāyatana) … edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) — this is that form which is external and not the masculinity faculty.
